A flood of protests, accusations and radical losses[?], local-solution efforts never stop
TIRANA - At last, nine hours after the closing of voting, officially it was said late at midnight that the winner of these elections had been declared. The Democratic Party, with a clear result, although the final figure has not yet been released, judging also from official statements, is the winner of these elections. This has also been a deep victory, since the result published last night in Tirana was 61 percent of the votes against 25 percent won by the left opposition. If the evening results were to be overturned, that would be a surprise. Based on the first results published yesterday, the Democratic Party led by Dr. Sali Berisha, in some of the country’s most important and largest cities, had convincing victories. Initial results indicated for Tirana a deep victory of the Democratic Party against the socialists. In second place the second opposition party and PS ally, Balli Kombëtar. If we referred to what last Saturday produced for the capital, then we would state that in Tirana, the right-wing coalition received a plebiscitary vote of over 60 percent. The first results for different cities generally spoke of an advantage for the PD and allies. According to Mr. Berisha, this time the PD’s victory is the most complete since 1992. It has been such a sweeping victory that the democrats seem to be making Albania have such a right-wing majority as no other country in Europe. Nevertheless, the final result of the voting and that of the local elections remains to be seen, which do not appear to have been as clear as the parliamentary ones.
Bomb explosions in 3 cities
WEEKEND BLOODIED
Bomb explosions in 3 cities
Krujë, attack on the policeman’s house
TIRANA - Three bomb explosions have destroyed private and state buildings during the weekend, leaving one dead and dozens injured. Although their perpetrators are still unidentified, the police suspect that these acts were carried out for revenge motives and in the context of blood feud. According to police sources, the first explosion occurred at the home of the head of the area police in Krujë, Fadil Ahmeti, where one floor of the building was completely destroyed. Meanwhile, in the city of Elbasan a large amount of explosives completely destroyed a warehouse and damaged other surrounding premises. In Berat another explosion occurred near a state building. The police have launched investigations to clarify the events.

Hafizi will be on the Albanian bench
Starova refuses the one for the "Hopefuls"
TIRANA - At last Mr. Sulejman Demollari has also arrived at the headquarters of the FSHF and stated that for the training of the National Team, which will have a German coach and technician, Mr. Shyqyri Rreli has been offered. "We are free to choose," he said. It seems that this statement does not concern the name of the Albanian coach. "We are free to choose" was the first thing that came out of Mr. Demollari’s mouth at his press conference. However, when asked about Sulejman Starova, he declared that the latter would be only for the "Hopefuls", since that is the decision of the Executive Committee. "It is a final decision and cannot be changed." This decision was made, according to him, in the morning meeting of the Executive Committee. But meanwhile last night Starova himself had declared to "Gazeta Shqiptare" that he would not accept that post. It seems that the issue of the new national team coach is still unclear.
